I am in 8th grade and haven't started my period. I have awful cramps every now and then and headaches and i am having mood swings for some reason tonight. I have that nasty white discharge. I am 5' 2 and like 96 pounds. Can anyone give me some idea of when i might get it. ( and someone said your surroundings can effect it, but i don't think living on a farm in Wisconsin would effect that)

Dude it's ok, I didn't get it until 9th grade and I am normal so don't sweat it. Be thankful you don't have to worry about tampons ar anything yet.

Sounds like you'll be getting it any day now! I was 5'4 8th grade and 100 pounds! If you have been gaining weight, craving salt, getting a lot of white discharge more than likely it will be in less than a couple days! Carry around a pad. If you don't get your period before the end of the next couple of months I would be very surprised.

You might be and what I would recommend is start to wear a ultra thin pad or pantiliner just encase.
Some signs that your period are
* acne
* bloating
* fatigue
* backaches
* sore breasts
* headaches
* constipation
* diarrhea
* food cravings
* depression or feeling blue
* irritability
* difficulty concentrating
* difficulty handling stress
These signs point to having your period. I would definetly wear a pad if you having more than one of these.
Congratulations.

You are running behind schedule, but you're showing all the signs of a girl who is actually having a period, so I'd expect it in the next few months.

Usually pretty soon, within the next few months.

But I have to disagree with the previous comment about birthcontrol--you can just take Tylenol...in my opinion birthcontrol is only if you're...well, "needing" it. :P Otherwise it's kinda a waste of money to take them all the time.

well everybody body's are different i would suggest you talking to your mother or if you have an older sister about it. Or if you don't feel comfortable doing that just ask your mom to make an appointment for you with your primary doctor and let your doctor know what is going on with your body and your doctor will know hat to do from there....don't worry about it...

When did your mom get hers? Family history is usually a pretty good indicator of when you'll start having them

talk to your mom and then like visit your doctor and tell him/her whats up and if you start soon they might put you on birth control for your horrible cramps
