Yes definitely.
But note if you plan to use this information for PC memory reasons, sometimes some memory will be paged and when you look up the memory it'll show like 504MB of free memory, etc...
So yes it is half of 1GB but this is for just in case :D

One Gibibyte is 1024 mb. One Gigabyte can be base ten, or 1000 mb. It depends, but the short answer is yes.
