What ever you you do to one side of the equal sign you do to the other.
Remember this one rule in Algebra!!!!!
Example; Say we have 2x+4=3 and we solve for x.
We can spend seconds or hours to solve.
I can subtract 4 so in algebra this Negative! 2x+4-4=3-4
I have to put -4 on both sides of the = sign.
2x+4-4=3-4
2x+0=-1
Just think of the concept used, and remember. What ever you do on one side of the = sign you do on the other. When you start learning they teach you short cuts, like in Polynomials. But, the basic concept is "Always" whatever you do to one side of the = sign you do to the other!!! Be it add, subtract, multiply or divide!!!!
AND!!!!! It not a minus or plus it a Negative or Positive!!!!
