A light year isn't a year. Its a distance.
A light year is the distance light travels in one Earth year (about 9 trillion kilometers or 6 trillion miles).
I'll bet if you googled "light year" you would have found it in a few seconds.

A light year is a measurement of distance, not time as one might believe. The speed that light travels in open space is 186,282.397 miles per second. Now to figure out what a light year would be, you would multiply the number of seconds in a whole year by 186,282.397 and that equals one light year.

It's not. That's like asking how many gallons in a mile.
A light year is a unit of DISTANCE, not time.
