What is the reason this time bush is hiding something? If bush is all about "accountability" why can't blackwater be held accountable? Are they doing something criminal? Something OPFOR in nature against our own military?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Bush administration said Wednesday it opposes a bill that would bring private military contractors overseas under U.S. law, warning it would have "unintended and intolerable consequences" for national security."

"Under an order laid down by the U.S. occupation government in Iraq, U.S. contractors can't be prosecuted under Iraqi law. Prince said he believed that rule should stand.

"'I'm not sure any foreigner would get a fair trial in Iraq right now,' he said. 'I think they'd at least get a fair trial here in the United States.'"

Ok, but if all is above board, then why not let the Iraqis run their own affairs?...and if they are not capable, how about an independent world body to judge these mercenary thugs?...Oh by the way, Blackwater donated 200,000$ to the Republicans last year..."fair trial"? in the U.S.?, I don't think so.

Oh and for the fool who likes me to identify myself as Canadian, I just have.

The war mongering immoral Bush and his filthy dispicable administration is opposing any attempt to rein in and excercize control over these FOR PROFIT KILLING MACHINES like BLACKWATER because their existence gives the US government and the US Military DENIABILTY ,DENIABILITY,DENIABILITY !!!!!!

The US military can get OTHERS to do their filthy/immoral atrocities and if "problems" arise, they can simply say IT WASN"T OUR FAULT ,IT WASN"T OUR FAULT!!!

It is EXACTLY the same modis operandi the US government uses when it ILLEGAL RENDERS (sends) their prisoners of war to other countries who are known to have no qualms about torturing and killing prisoners.

There are a number of famous cases involving this rendering by the US government in which prisoners/suspects were tortured and killed (The infamous ARAR case in Canada for example) but the US was able to deflect any responsibility/accountability by blaming the country/government that the US rendered the suspects/prisoners to .

Stinking immoral bastards !!!!

coca cola has similar practices as Blackwater but hidden under the cover of the 'farc' and terrorism rather than the insidious nature by where businesses can harbor merceneries that bring pride, prejudice and murder to the forefront of world agitation and political warmongering.

Blackwater, just another American sucess story, that is if your family contributed over 200 thousand dollars to Bush campaigns and your mothers sister was a Bush Pioneer! I have to think it was a good investment that now Blackwater is making a Billion a year.

As US citizens they already fall under the jurisdiction of US courts, not to mention being in Iraq they fall under the jurisdiction of the Iraqi government. In short, a new law would be pointless.

Unfortunately, Bush's whole approach to everything since his presidency began is to make it legally impossible to hold anyone accountable for anything.
