So my boyfriend of a year is my best friend. Im 16 and he is 18. We get along great and hes been the only person i can trust with anything. I can talk to him whenever i need to. None of my friends can i talk to whenever i need to, they are extremely lazy and never want to do anything other than watch movies, they gossip.... Which is fun all i need is one person that i can be open with, But then my friends think im being mean by not telling them everything... which isnt true.... I dont get what they want from me its not like i never talk to them, it frustrates me soo much specially becuase they arent very nice. Im in a rougher highschool and its not easy to just go make new friends. What should i do?

I get where their coming from. Even though your boyfriend is a better person to trust with secrets than these girls they are your friends and the saying goes " the only time boys comes before friends is in the dictionary" and that's true. you don't have to tell them all your secrets but you might as well tell them a couple little things that would make them feel better. if they continue nagging you say "look, i luv you guys but he has proven i can trust him with everything! now you need to do the same"

You don't have to tell them anything. If my friends gossiped about everything I would go to them with something I want keep secret. If it comes down to them not wanting to be your friends, I'd rather try getting new friends who don't get offended by me not telling them more things that they can gossip on. I'd rather try to spend my time finding new friend, then to keep my friends who dont care about how I feel.

Like I tell my kids (16yrs, 12yrs, 9yrs).....just put the "Jiminy Cricket" rule on it.....which is, LET YOUR CONSCIOUS BE YOUR GUIDE.

Do what you think is right. If your friends don't see that, you'll make new friends soon, I'm sure of it.
