Reality is rarely ever as good as we imagined it would be before it came to pass. While love is wonderful, it's far from perfect like it tends to be in our minds. I'd say not so much the idea (as in concept) but rather the ideal (what we always imagine it to be) is what's really best. For the few who've ever attained it? Congratulations! For the rest of us? Keep on looking...

An idea can be anything you want it to be, because it's "made up" with one's unique ideals.
It cannot be better than the thing itself, as it doesn't exist at all.
I'm not saying it can't be "fun"--as all dreams & fantasies are. The "reality" of love is, of course quite different! It is touched, seen, shared & felt. It is real.
I'm sticking to the question, & won't go off on the "pain" (!) or the possible "broken heart" or disappointment--nor the joys that are, perhaps like no other. Oh dear, I rather did, didn't I? Oh well.
Without question, love itself.

Every one has his own idea of love. He may perceive it as something more than friendship; Something that upholds all sweet dreams; Something mystical as a rose with all its thorns; Something that's taken with sacrifice; Or something worth dying for.
Yet, LOVE in itself is far beautiful than we can ever imagine. It's bolder than the sun or the stars. It's more than just a reason to breathe or a heart to beat for. It's beyond words to explain. Love, itself, holds the mysteries of us all.

Love itself is pretty awesome, but the idea of love is so intriguing that I would have to choose that.

Love, it self, of course. Though it SAID to be an emotion, it can express in so many incredible ways. Idea is in practically all ways intangible.

Its gotta be the idea of love.
Because thats just so glamorous.
I can't honestly say love itself because it can't compare to what love has been made up to be.

Isn't everything theoretical better than emprical? Communism is a great idea in theory....
Love, well, love is never painful conceptually...

Would you rather be thinking of being on a beach or actually be there & feel the breeze off the waves & the sand between your toes?
