The gods Horus and Seth were frequently associated with Upper and Lower Egypt. The two protective goddesses Wadjet and Nekhbet (the cobra and the vulture) featured on many Egyptian crowns are also associated with Upper and Lower Egypt.
The myth of the death and rebirth of Osiris played a role in that the body of Osiris was cut into multiple parts and scattered throughout Egypt. A number of towns/temples claimed to have been the home of one of the dismembered parts of Osiris.
There was an association between the fertile farmland on the banks of the Nile and Osiris, associated with order and an association between the desert and Set, associated with chaos.

A million of them. Everything was linked to the Gods & Goddesses. From sun rising in the East & setting in the West to the desert that surrounded them.

the Nile was a river of major proportions, and was tied to myths, too - the highway of the gods.
