80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

The meaning of life is to value what you have and learn to value the life of others too! Learn to live in happiness to make life more meaningful and keep on going for the pursuit of happiness.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

To expand, to evolve, to reach reach completion and fullness of being. In short to not make this so long, To Know Thy Self which is a multi-leveled process.

Everything is about continuity of consciousness, of life until it is completed and fulfilled in wholeness in all its natures, both within and without.

I am not sure that there is a meaning. I hear that question asked a lot and I have to say that if I hear someone say that it is whatever you make it, I will laugh. Maybe the meaning is, is that you lived it(life).

To grow from infant to adult both physically and mentally,
and to use the knowledge you gain in your life to help
your fellow man, & the earth, and then to die knowing
your life has been a blessing to others.

Why do you want to ignore one third of the world's population?

Catholics believe the meaning of human life is to know and love God.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/prologue.htm

With love in Christ.

the meaning of life is to die, you should jump off a cliff, hang yourself, you're going to die one day, so why not die earlier so you wouldn't make any sin.
