Bush is trying to get the US dollar to where its worth less than 5 cents then pay off the debt with worthless currency just like Germany did after WW2.

When they sold bonds for the war, everyone was in back of the war, they knew it was a war we had to win, so they bought the bonds. There were enough bonds sold during the 2nd W.W. to help pay for Korea because many of the people held on to the bonds as a hedge agains retirement, another depression etc. Bonds were not a big item during Vietnam, the people were not really for that war, just as they are not for Iraq. During the Vietnam war America had money, we still had a lot of industry still in this country, people had jobs so more was collected in taxes & we could afford to pay for that war also. Now we come to Iraq, Industry is mostly gone, wages are not what they were, the government cut taxes & did not raise the taxes on the wealth to make up for the tax cuts, so our government started to borrow money from known enemies of our country, we cannot even begin to pay the interest on these loans! We have companies who go into bankruptcy i.e. Enron, leaving the people who work for them in the cold but the VIPs made millions. Sure there is an on going investigation, but what have you heard about where the money is from that investigation? The people sure haven't received any of it! The government, now in power, has friends in the military & industrial complex, they are all making billions; yet we the public are going broke & the nation is in deep debt! What do we do about that? Time to take stock of just who is running for election & where their funding is coming from, don't you think?

I agree. Now if you can positively prove that Republicans started any wars, I will send you my check.
War profiteering? How trite.
Do any of of these pirates employ anyone? Do any of them pay taxes? The sublime has been reached yet again.
Before I forget again: What was the vote in Senate to continue funding? 92-3. And isn't the Senate majority Dem?

The republicans have been shoving money into this war we can't win. It's cost is outrageous and someone, sometime will have to pay for it. That's when you'll hear people complain about how the taxes are going to go up.
Most people don't mind paying taxes for things they believe in, such as education or health care but the majority of us resent these things being put on the back burner so mr. bush can have his war.

Bonds are being sold - that's how the government borrows money, it sells bonds (or shorter term T-bills). Who buys them is a function of the market, and, really, has little bearing on anything.

They think our debt will just go away or they'll gladly pass the burden of paying the debt to their own children. Either way, all they care about is that the money from the taxcuts is in their grubby fingers.

Yes.
We Republicans paid for the wars that Democrats started:
WWI
WWII
Korea
Vietnam
Democrats don't pay for wars, because most of them are on Welfare.

Figures the Democrats want another tax. Considering they are just as much responsible for the wars as the Republicans since they all voted for it. Last war tax only ended recently and that war ended several generations ago(Spanish-American war)

You can't blame them. They got suckered in by a sweet deal with foreign creditors where they didn't have to pay any interest for a whole year. But then they jacked up the interest rate! Those bastards!
