Do you like William John or John William better? I love both the nicknames Will and Jack, so I'm really wondering which flows better. Both names are family names, so neither will be moved. However, if you can suggest others with similar names that would be fine.

Also:
James Andrew or Andrew James?
George Thomas or Thomas George?
Anne Elizabeth or Elizabeth Anne?
Catherine Mary or Mary Catherine?
or any other combinations using: Catherine, Mary, Anne, Elizabeth, Margaret, Virginia, Genevieve
James, Andrew, John, William, George, Thomas, Samuel, Lewis
All names are family names (yes, I know I have bland family names, but all of these people are important to me and I would like to honor them). Slight variations are okay.
By the way, I'm not pregnant, I was just wondering what you all thought of some of my top names
Thanks!

FYI
I prefer John to Jack as a professional name. I personally wouldn't go to a doctor whose given name was Jack, just as I wouldn't go to a Billy, Jimmy or Freddy but I would go to a William, James or Frederick. It also gives him more options for nicknames as he grows rather than just sticking with Jack. No offense to anybody who disagrees, these are just my opinions.

I like William John better because of the nicknames Will and Liam, but John William sounds better.
James Andrew has a stronger presence than Andrew James. Same with George Thomas

Anne Elizabeth and Elizabeth Anne both sound very generic.
Catherine Mary or Mary Catherine -They both sound Catholic.

I'll throw out some combo ideas:

Catherine Elizabeth
Genevieve Margaret
Daisy Marie -Daisy is a pet form of Margaret, Marie the French form of Mary.
Maribel Virginia -Maribel is a combo of Mary and Elizabeth,
Georgia Catherine -for George, on your male list.

James Lewis
Jonathan Andrew
Liam Thomas
Samuel James

They are bland, but can be made into very striking combos. Hope this helps!

I really love your naming style. It is very similar to mine!

I love both William John and John William. John William gets my vote though.
I love James Andrew and George Thomas.
I love Elizabeth more than Anne but Elizabeth Anne is boring even for me so Anne Elizabeth gets my vote
I love both Mary and Catherine. They are my two favorite girl names. Mary Catherine gets my vote though because I am on a Mary kick lately.
I love Samuel as well.

You have a lot of great names. You can't really go wrong with any of them!

John William was my Grandfather's name. :o) It was also his son's name, his grandson's name and his great grandson's name (as well as his Grandfather's name!)

In my family, they went John, Jack, John, Jack - so my Grandfather went by John, my uncle was called Jack, his son was John, and now his little boy goes by Jack.

I like both names - Jack is kind of fun and free-spirited and has more of a nickname feel to it. I had a student in my class a few years ago who went by both Jack and John, sort of depending on his "mood" - so you never know, you may call your little boy "Jack" and have him grow up wanting to be "John." (or vice versa) He might also wind up being "Johnny" if you call him John, and Jack" is more professional sounding than "Johnny!"

As far as your other names, I love Andrew James. (That has the added benefit of the initial name "AJ" which is cute on a little boy and grows nicely into a man's name...), and I think Elizabeth Anne is pretty - albeit very traditional. Mary Catherine makes me think of a nun, so I would probably not choose that, if it were my choice! Virginia is a pretty name, but I'm not really crazy about the nickname that goes with it - "Ginny"

Also, how about Andrew Thomas or Thomas James? Elizabeth Marie or Virginia Anne? I like Margaret because of the nicknames "Maggie" and "Meg"- but I don't think I could call a little girl "Margaret" and keep a straight face....it just seems too old and dowdy a name to me....

I like John William. One of my children is named John.
James Andrew, George Thomas, Elizabeth Anne. Try Elizabeth Ann instead. I think this spelling looks nicer.
Mary Catherine flows but I prefer the name Catherine to Mary.

Good luck thinking of names ;)

Andrew Thomas ... Thomas Andrew

John William (why not just name him Jack William? I never got how Jack is actually a nickname for John.)

John William
James Andrew
George Thomas
Elizabeth Anne
Mary Catherine (I love Catherine with the C)

I don't think these names are bland at all. Classic names are hardly used anymore. Your child will be the only with those names. My son is Michael Thomas and he is the only Michael...go figure!

William John had a better flow. Also, you would be able to call him will. If you name him John William there is the possibility that people would call him J.W. and I really dislike initials used for names.
