Does anyone really have an answer to this, or is it just a statement used as a fear tactic, to keep our troops overseas and keep the wars going?
Why do so many people believe the whole "they hate us for our freedom" statement, especially if no one knows the specific answer of who "they" are and what particular freedom of ours they "hate"?

Cain, I know all about 9/11. We were attacked by mainly Saudis (our allies, I might add) and yet we went to war in Afghanistan. And then we start up in Iraq... does the general "they" imply Muslims? All the Middle Eastern countries? Just Saudis? Just Iraqis? Just Bat'thists? Sunnis? Shi'a?

Actually how about this... the "they" must be the Iraqis and Afghanis, and they hate us for our freedom of... being able to leave our houses every day without the fear of being shot as soon as we step outside?
That would actually make some sense.

It's a right wing hysteria generating point that has no bearing on reality.
Pay no attention to the fools behind the curtains.

I think the people using these terms are usually refer to Muslims but are really afraid of pissing off the voters by being too extreme themselves. I think they'd like to be more open about it, but they are themselves afraid. And their motives are still monetary, not noble. Even if they've combined the two. They could fight terrorism here pretty effectively if the fear of jihad was all they were worried about. But alas it's not. They only seem to go to other countries when that country has an exploitable resource and a deal with a major western corporation.

There are easily quite a few very respectable, authentic black men at here that look after black women human beings (and black human beings generally). There are people who gain this in a okay spoken way. As for YahooAnswers, I see this place as being one massive stereotype. and that i do no longer in basic terms mean a racial stereotype, yet a stereotype of what like it incredibly like generally. all of us is only over appearing area of society online, in some way. Get what I mean? i would not attempt to bypass this off as being a real representation of existence, yet particularly what incredibly is going via peoples' heads. BQ - good question.

Good luck getting an answer on this. It's been asked many, many times and I've yet to see a good, reasonable answer. My guess is that these terms are used to scare the uninformed sheep who get their news from fox.

THEY is a little gnome in a darkroom with a computer and a phone bank. He is the one referred to when it is said "They say..." That is a stupid answer but probably closest to the truth you are going to get.

Wow that cain is one mad looking dude lol!
Anyway I agree...how can they really hate what they don't know. Have they walked in our shoes? Have we walked in theirs? Hate is folly is frivolous and agenda pushing nonsense.
Maybe its more fear....they fear us for our freedom. And we fear them for fearing our freedom...
