A while back my mom mentioned that if I ever wanted kids, but couldn't have any with my partner, that she'd act as a surrogate. So, I have two quesitons:
1) Is this possible?
2) Has anyone carried a baby for their child(ren), or has anyone's mother carried a baby for them?

Yes, it is possible. Few months ago they were showing on the news a mother who carried for her daughter. The daughters eggs and husbands sperm were retrieved during IVF and the fertilized embryos get transplanted in the surrgates uterous. Age really does not matter much for carrying the baby. Its the eggs that have to healthy. Haven't you heard of all these women in there late 40 and 50 getting pregnant by IVF with donor eggs? There was also a women all over the news, who lied to the doctors about how old she was. She told doctor that she was 55. She had IVF with donor eggs and conceived twins. Later she announced that she lied to the doctors and that she was really 67 years old.

Yes, it's possible, and has been done in the past. Most clinics won't do it now if the grandmother is more than whatever their recommended age limit is. I don't know what that age limit is, but I know many fertility clinics won't do any kind of IVF on a woman over 50. The success rate is too poor.

What you have witnessed is what I call "transference and interpretation" interior of religions. i'm specific there is an prevalent anthropological term for it, yet that's what I call it. In tribal religions, the place witchcraft, possession, demonology, and spell casting are proper factors of the animist custom, an inflow of Christian teachings is made to in effective condition the present schema for theory. that's purely like what handed off to Christianity. area of the form of that faith grow to be to co-decide present theory traditions, so truly of Zeus and Jupiter, we've the same old "God". on the different hand, believers in Zeus and Jupiter recent in Christianity many suggestions and philosophies that resonated with what they felt grow to be splendid. In opposite trend, Christian theory grew to grow to be co-opted to in effective condition the present schema of theory. that's what's handed off right here, including your African occasion. The animist faith that comes with theory in spirit possession, witching, spell casting, and curses comes into touch with a theory device that comes with a holy spirit and the parable of the Pentecost (possession), blasphemy (cursing oneself), and different appropriate suggestions...the top effect is the horror and tragedy you have witnessed. that's not Christianity that's accountable, or the animism that mixed with it. the subject is that persons the international over are too caught in a choose for problems to be solved with the help of a deity truly of accepting accountability for themselves. The greater training is unfold for the duration of the international, the less we can see a choose for zealousness and religiosity, and the less we can see undesirable events such because of the fact those you have stated.

That's odd. By the time you're old enough to be ready kids, I'd never risk having a woman that old have my child. Wow. Really odd to make a "hypothetical" offer like that.

Yes, this has happened. There was a girl in the news several years ago born without a uterus, but she had her ovaries so her eggs were harvested, fertilized with her husband's sperm and implanted in her mom's uterus. I believe she had twins.

If your mother is in good health at the time you wish to have a child, it is medically possible.

I don't know how common this is, but it was nice of her to offer, I guess (are you having problems ttc?).
