I never block. If someone asks or answers with rudeness, it is only an indication of poor judgement. The yougsters seeing this may learn something from it, they will later anyway from another rude or crude individual, this is a part of lifes lessons.

You can say it's rude, but then again, isn't the other person being rude by doing something that would warrant blocking them?

Ive blocked one. who asked a question, then got rude and nasty when he didn't like my honest answer!
We don't have to have any contact with idiots, who abuse the site, that's what the block is for! Why has someone pissed you off?

That depends. I block people if I don't know them, and they harrass me. But if you find someone you don't know and block them for no reason, that's rude. Blocking friends is rude, unless they harrass you in an unfriendly way.

Hell yes I block them. I blocked and finally removed one of my contacts last night that kept asking questions in German on this English language version of Yahoo! Answers. I have nothing against German but not on the English version.

In my opinion, blocking isn't that bad. People do it because they want their privacy. When I get in a fight with a friend I block them from my AIM list, while they delete me. Then once we become friends again, I can just unblock them while they have to ask me if I'd like to be on their messenger list again.
