You bet! I'll surprise you by telling you i'm a guitar player of many years, and mostly favor / play ..Hard Rock and Metal type music (not newer garbage though..), but i've always had my finger on the pulse of what was and is talented great players. A few years ago , i actually bought tickets to an Artie Shaw concert / dinner show. Me and my wife went, i had a great time - Hey! it was a hot swing orchestra! That kinda stuff influences my guitar playing! Anybody who doesn't get THAT is doomed to sound like 10,000 other dudes (low estimate even..). We shared a table with an old couple , and they were just fascinated as to why a "Long haired Rocker couple" were at the venue. LOL!

Yeah- my parents played it for us when we were growing up and I've always liked it. I had very cool parents with wide ranging tastes in music, from jazz to classical and even pop.
But I hated that fake swing revival of the 1990s which was stale and imitative. No imaginations at all.

Yes, some of the best stuff on the planet. Crank up the volume on Sing, Sing, Sing or Rhapsody in Blue sometime...quite nice.
