No, not unless you go on the pill. I would recommend talking to your doctor about this as well to see what they say.

there is a new birth con. pill out and you are only on it for three days i heard it is really good i don't have one i am on the shot but you can only be on it for 2 yrs before it starts to mess with your body but for two years no period it is great

Some birth control pills have the side effect of shorter periods. Talk to you ob-gyn about this.
