How about cut spending. We keep bringing in more and more tax revenue every year (yes, even when the tax rates were cut) but we increase spending even more.

Our country is like a family who lives above their means but keeps on discussing whether to get another credit card or another job, instead of discussing where they should be cutting back.

Contrary to what the left will tell you, it is not a "one or the other" situation. Taxes cuts were passed against the screams of the left and the deficit has declined each year. Tax cuts increase revenue to the government every time they are instituted. It's just a fact. Naturally Harry Reid and Dick Durbin don't want this fact to be well known. And don't hold your breath until it is broadcast on CNN. But it is a fact nonetheless.

Neither. Ideally, the budget should be balanced at (relatively) low levels of spending and taxation.
