It isn't really miriah carey because her 2 albums before the Emancipation of Mimi didnt really sell a lot. I think the two best female vocalist are Aaliyah and mary j blige. Aaliyah was multi talented. she had a smooth voice and had unique dance moves which makes her music and career outstanding. Mary J blige is the ultimate Queen of R&B.

mariah carey is a esquisite vocalist and so is whitney houston and celion dion..so i 'll give them my vote. but coming close behind is Mary J. Blige, Christiana Aguliera,Keyshia Cole, Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson (to some extent)
