Why don't more Americans feel guilty for being a beneficiary of labor conditions in China, Taiwan, and others

Whether you want to admit it or not in China somewhere there are children and women and men who worked 10-16 hrs. today so that U.S. citizens can buy their kids a cheap lead painted toy and these people that worked so that we can buy these products make less money in a day than that toy costs!!

Essentially all Americans who buy Chinese and other countries who are in this crazy system's products are involved in the enslavement of the world's poor laborers!

Can you face this honestly and realize that we need to address how we are going to change this?
It is disgusting and is destructive to humanity!

We need to adopt fair business labor regulations and environmental standards with countries that we do business with.

Or end our business with them.

If I felt guilty for every bad thing that happens to good people everyday all over the world it would eat me alive.

I also know that those people could care less if your mother gets terminal cancer or your kid gets hit by a car or whatever heinous crap happens to you.

And since when is humanity a good thing. Humans according to most of you are destroying the environment, cruel to animals, start wars for profit, commit genocide, suppress people of different races, hate, murder, rape, destroy. So what does "destructive to humanity" mean?

Those who do have jobs probably don't see a big benefit in the lack of safe, quality merchandise on store shelves, either. Importers can make huge margins on cheap chinese crap, so investors insist on similar margins for decent goods - making them super-exensive and hard to find.


What they should be is angry.

I don't think you'll find too many U.S. citizens who are glad that their job was sent to China. Guilty may be the wrong word here. American citizens are not the ones who should feel guilty. There isn't really much we can do about it until our government decides to change their trade policies or make it less attractive to leave the states.

Living in Michigan midst the unemployment and outgoing refugees, I don't think NAFTA,China or our trade policies are doing us any favors. We're paying too dearly for those tainted toys and "cheap" products. (less income but raising sales
tax 6% as of this last weekend (11th hour move) 'cause the budget was X billions in the hole).

Because we have our stuff together. Part of the whole deal is benefiting off of those who are less fortunate. They can do what our great grandfathers did and start a union with their fists if they want.

What do you expect?...do you think when we have a segment of our population that wants to deny health care to sick or dying kids, care about the working conditions of someone across the world?....not if it'll save em a quarter.....I buy american whenever possible then hold my nose when I have to buy chinese.....
