I own a 1997, Jeep TJ with 135K miles on her. Her front tires wobble, on the Y-axis, whenever I hit a bump or at 30-40mph or there is some warping of the road, or if I am making a turn at that speed for more than a few seconds.

I can break the harmonics of the wobble by turning the wheel back and forth a bit or by breaking.

Any ideas?

It relies upon on what you prefer to do with it. in case you prefer offroading capacity, bigger is oftentimes greater effectual. the two.5l is somewhat below-powered. To make up for it, it already has decrease gears than the 6 cyl. i might probable advise against the 4" carry, as you will would desire to do a honest quantity of different issues to boot to the carry. For 4", you will would desire to get a Slip yoke eliminator kit and CV driveshaft to nicely suited the rearpersistent line perspective (upload 600-800 to the fee of the carry, in case you install). 2.5" and 31s or 32s would be great. you may lose somewhat good end velocity. physique lifts are no longer any situation. oftentimes I in uncomplicated terms propose a a million" carry. i've got had a 2" carry earlier, and that i do no longer in uncomplicated terms like the appearance. 3" physique carry, steer sparkling. Too severe and too plenty stress on long bolts. I run a a million" physique carry, which permits some different off-roading mods - abdomen up (tucking the transmission and flow case bigger interior the fram rails), etc. something to contemplate, if that's an prolonged term vehicle for you: you may p.c.. up a salvage or older cherokee (ninety 4-ninety 9) for particularly much less high priced and can change the motor and all upload-ons into your TJ. this could be a advantageous thank you to interchange that 2.5l.
