You got to make sure that you have all the fixins: boiled red potatoes and corn (hella spicy) about a thousand paper towels and two cardboard open topped boxes.
Step One: Fill up one box with the crawfish, potatoes, and corn; set up your other box for the discarded bodies
Step Two: Select a crawfish, bigger ones are easier to peel, and straighten out the tail with your thumb and forefinger.
Step Three: With the other hand grab the abdomen with the thumb and forefinger.
Step Four: Pull- wiggle the tail out of the body
(at this point, one can "suck day heayds" or it can be save for after the meat has been consumed, or discarded all together, but if you're are going for the whole experience go for it!)
Step Five: Pull the "fin" part of the tail away from the rest of the tail. If done correctly a weird dark vein type thing should come with it, if not, no big deal
Step Six: Peel of the segmented parts and "feet" thing away and you are left with a delectable morsel
Crawfish Boils are a wonderful cultural endeavor!

Yeah but ain't ate them in a while. I start with the tail and break it and push my two thumbs inside and move my way up. I'm get all nasty eating them

I'll stick with shrimp & lobster, a lot easier to eat and not as messy. Your two cats should be able to show you, almost forgot about that. lol, kitten.

pull his head off and at the same time his insides will come out too ... then dig in shoving and sucking all that itsy bitsy meat ... personally I think it's too much work for such a little piece ... good luck ... !

you break off the tails and peel out the meat like a small lobster tail....
Then you suck the heads... YUMMY...
