ok well heres what happened..we was in class and whatever doing work and then outta nowhere these 2 kids stated fighting..so then eveybody was hype and everything...and then this kid said "oh sh!t that kid got washed...and dried...and folded...i know he mad tight" so then i started dying laughing and i said "wait how you wash him without putting the quarters in" and then everybody started laughing and then the teacher gave detention for "making an outburst" when i barely said anything..plus the class hype and full of chaos already...then she sent me to the deans office for saying "are you serious...you teachers are killing me man..."
its not like im going to the detention or anything but i just wanna know would you give a student detention for laughing??

I would definitely have given you detention. You were making light of a serious situation (fighting) and you were adding to the disruption of the class. Next time be part of the solution not part of the problem.

You're one of the reasons many leave teaching after only a few years. The other reason is the parents who think this kind of behavior should be permissible in the classroom or that it's never their son or daughter who would be capable of such a thing.
I sincerely do hope that you will grow up and see the light before your high school days are behind you and you haven't learned much of anything except how to be disruptive and "cute" in order to get the attention that you are so needy for at the expense of other students who are earnest about their studies.

You are in class, not a comedy show! The teacher had enough to deal with the kids fighting. And then you want to come along a make a show out of it. Suppose the teacher was your mama???

your teacher probably just didn't wanna deal with you (the teacher have more important thing to do) and she put you in detention just to teach you a lesson, or the whole class.
if im the teacher i would give the student a detention if i asked them about 3 times to stop laughing and they still wouldn't stop.

No, I would never give a student detention for laughing if I was a teacher! That is just crazy.

Yup, you and every other wise-cracking idiot would have gotten detention. Fights are not funny and do not need to be encouraged in the classroom.

If Jay Leno and David Letterman did the time- and I am betting they did, you should too. As a teacher I appreciate that your teacher is trying to maintain classroom discipline, but I have to admit, your comment was "off the chain."

If you were simply laughing, I would probably just talk to you about the inappropriateness. If you were mocking what was happening and aging on the situation, then yes, I would refer you to the office.

Sounds like it was the final straw for her. You just kept it going when if you had sat quietly it might have died down faster.
