I did. I graduated without loans and was able to pay for my entire college career with grants and scholarships. I knew that my parents were not rich. So I did what I could to help. I did extensive searches for scholarships and applied to any and everyone that I thought I could get. This., along with the financial aid that I qualified enabled me to do this without having to leave school in debt.
You can do this also. It will however take a lot of dedication. It means not going to the movies sometimes with your friends so that you can put in extra time studying so that you end up the tops in your class.
It can be done.

No, and anyone who has gone to college, unless they are related to a billionaire, or their parents hit the lottery has some form of financial aid. Whether it's a scholorship or a loan. It doesn't matter. I can not think of anyone that I personally know that has gone to college without a loan of some sort.

After college my parents ended up with a few loans but they were kind enough to pay them down for me. I am lucky in that my folks saw it as their responsibility to educate me. Having said that, I also worked part time through college, and full time during Summers, and 100% of those earnings went toward tuition and fees. And on top of that my parents and I were able to tap many thousands of scholarship / grant dollars.
