-16<-3x+8<-7?Subtract 8 from all terms getting:
-24 <-3x <-15
Divide all terms by 3, getting:
-8 <-x <-5
Multiply all terms by -1 getting:
8> x > 5

any number greater than 8
and 8 in the equation will give you -16, a 9 will give you -19 which is less than -16.

-16<3(any number >8)<-7
