I just started taking yaz at the beginning of sept, and am almost done with my first pack. I am going to be taking my third white pill (out of four) tonight, but i still havent goten my period.

Is this normal? I was under the impression that i should have gotten my period on the first white pill. Please, tell me your experiences on yaz and whether or not this should be a concern or not. thanks!

I haven't done Yaz but I have done its sister product Yasmin and had a rough time with adjusting to it at first and then after settling in I was ok for 6 months til a different problem occurred. I did find that my period would sometimes start 3 days in to the placebo part of the pack.

Also, sometimes the period can skip when starting out on the pill because of the body trying to adjust to being on the medication. It takes about 3 months for the body to fully adjust to the medication.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

Just because you are on antibiotics doesn't mean you can't get pregnant... but the mix of condoms and the birth control (as long as both are used correctly) should keep you protected. I took Yaz and it really messed with me for a while until my body got used to it. I recommend just starting the new pack, because if you aren't pregnant then you just messed up the cycle for the next month. It always took me about a week after I started taking the white pills to start mine, often when I'd already started the new pack of active pills. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I always get my period 72 hours after my last active pill - so when I take the third sugar pill. It takes a few days for the hormone levels in your body to drop enough to trigger bleeding.
