let x be the amount of juice in the first drink
let y be the amount of juice inthe second drink

the two juices comebine to make 8 quarts
x + y = 8

.10x is the amount of juice in the first drink
.26 is the amount of juice in the second drink
.16(8) is the amount of juice of BOTH drinks

.10x + .26y = .16(8)

x + y = 8
x = 8 - y

.10(8 - y) + .26y = 1.28
.8 - .10y + .26y = 1.28
.16y = .48
y = 3 quarts

x = 8 - 3
x = 5 quarts

5 quarts of the the drink that has 10% juice
3 quarts of the the drink that has 26% juice
