here's what I would add:
3 cory cats
4 neon tetras
1 mystery snail
4 lemon tetra
however, pretty much and NONaggressive community fish works, semi-aggressive and aggressive will nip at the betta so avoid these. also avoid gouramis.

It actually depends on what you like. Betta's can get along with many other types of fish. The ones to avoid are fish with flowing fins and fin nippers. Also avoid aggressive fish. I have one male in a community tank with swordtails, Tetra's, corydoras, and platies to name a few. If you get Tetra's remember they are schooling fish and will do very well with 3 or more in a group.

1. Nice!
2. I suggest corydoras catfish, or a type of freshwater shrimp (you have to watch those though because betta may eat them/sometimes get along), snails, thinking otocinclus, guppies, flame tetras (orange von rio).
- Wish you luck with it all! Thanks for being the good person and getting a big tank for the betta! If you need something you can email me! Good luck :] -

basically anything that is community or semi-agressive will work, but not another betta, since they will often fight to the death.
oh, and no saltwater fish either, although i hardly even need to mention that.

i would go with Cory catfish. they will most likely not have problems with a betta.
