Where can I find a good website that does statistic on a global scale of the number of children who are orphaned and the effects on their development??

any physical or cognitive development info would be extremely helpful.
Most of the sites I find are AIDS organization or how to help an orphanage...I am mainly looking at facts about the child's development

I don't know where you would get statistics on development, but you might get statistics on the global number of adoptees from the United Nations UNICO web site - I would assume they have one, but I have never looked. Do a search. As far as development is concerned, be more specific: do you mean physical or cognitive development, etc.?
