No! I love star wars!!!
Who cares what your friends think, as long as it makes you happy.. real friends accept you for who you are and they don't tell you what or how you should be. =]

You're not weird in the least bit ... believe me, there are ton of real wackos ... you know, the ones who dress up in costumes and wait outside a movie house for months just to be the first to see the latest movie , the ones who have "fake" lightsabre duels with sticks ... wait a minute ... oh man, I'm describing myself ... lol ... not really but I do remember smacking the snot out of my two bothers when we used to have "stick duels". Seriously though, you're not weird because you like Star Wars ... quite the opposite actually ... it shows you have an open mind and a good imagination. For myself, I use Star Wars as an "escape" from real life ... whenever life gets me down I toss in one of the movies or pick up one of the 100 or so books I have and take a relaxing trip to a galaxy far, far, away ... it never fails to put me in a better state of mind. I think Star Wars touches each fan differently ... somewhere in one of the movies is a "life lesson" that opens your eyes to a different way of viewing things. People always laugh at me when I say that Star Wars is, at its most basic level, a big love story ... a story that shows two fundamental facts: When it's right Love is the most powerful of all emotions and it can lift you to heights you never thought you could reach ... When it's wrong ... well it gets bad pretty fast.
Tell you what, the next time they call you weird ask them what makes them so sure that you're not the "normal" one and them the "weird" ones. I have a little gag I use a lot that just annoys the hell out of my friends. I usually use it when I'm with a bunch of friends going to a store or something. Just before we get within sensor range of the automatic doors I stop them and say "Stand back, I'll handle this" ... then I take a couple steps to trip the sensor and as I do that I wave my hand at the doors so it looks like I'm using the Force to open the doors ... then I turn around and say "See ... I told you I was a Jedi" ... then I usually have to duck the things they throw at me ... lol ... almost without fail my gf smacks me on the back of the head and mumbles "Moron" as she walks by me. In the end I actually feel sorry for your friends because they are missing out on something that they just don't understand ... it's really sad if you think about it.
BTW: Spaceballs came out in the late 80s ... I never really cared for it but it's another one of those "From a certain point of view ..." kind of things. Ironically Lucas actually took some of the base ideas in Spaceballs and used them in the pre-quels ... life really is weird sometimes but in the Star Wars world weird is normal.

Of course not! I am, like, also in love with Star Wars. (look at my user name) I collect the action figres and stuff and I know just about everything in Star Wars. I am also a girl and I don't see why girls can't like Star Wars. Cuz I think Star Wars is the gnarlest movie ever!!! Obi-Wan rocks!!!

Hey, there: Since you like Star Wars so much may I suggest that you also watch the spoof version of it which is called "Space Balls." It has been out for a few years, but I always liked it and I see it as good clean fun. I know that you will like it, too.
Cheers,
Mr. M. on "weird."

The original Trilogy are the Classics. The newer ones with the whiny cry baby Anakin were fair....Everyone likes Star Wars..or they are of the other fan base..Star Trek...
from what I have seen at conventions..you are not weird by far..

I like the original Star Wars. I own the DVD's and still watch it every time it is on TV. I am a grandmother, and I don't think you are weird at all.

Absolutely NOT!!! In FACT, YOU have an advantage over most of your Girlfriends. There are SO many guys out there who are "into Star Wars" stuff- that when they hear that YOU like it too- they're going to want to get to know you "Better..." :) You have one of the BEST things to have in "common" with a guy... -So you will ALWAYS have friends... :)

When the first two came out, in 1977, and then 1980, everyone, and I mean everyone went out to see the adventures of Luke, Han, and Leia. Just remember the phrase, everything old is new again, and you'll be fine. Trust me!
