is that sqrt(2x) or sqrt(2x+20+2)? You can't expect people to do your homework for you if you can't even type the problem correctly.

Sqrt(2x+20) + 2 = x

Sqrt(2x+20) = x-2

2x+20 = (x-2)^2
2x + 20 = x^2 -4x +4
x^2 - 6x-16=0

(x+2) * (x-8) = 0

x = -2 or 8

sqrt (2x + 20) + 2=x <-- Hope this is correct interpretation.
sqrt(2x+20) = x-2
2x+20 = x^2-4x+4
x^2-6x -16 = 0
(x-8)(x+2) = 0
x = 8
x = -2 is rejected as extraneous

Depends if it's sqrt(2x) or sqrt(2)x. Big difference.
If you post an update to your question to clarify (and if I notice...) I'll try to post an edit to this answer.
