I recently bought a wooden toy train set and i would like to glue it down so my son will not move the tracks. I need some thing that can be taken up to allow expansion of the set. Any suggestions on what type of glue I should use?

You can use silicone caulking. This is the clear stuff that is used to seal windows and doors. It stays pliable so that if you decide to remove it later it won't destroy the wooden tracks. You won't need to use huge globs because just a little bit on each piece of track should keep it down nicely. When it comes time to remove, just lightly pry under the track with a putty knife.

The cheapest way out if your son isnt too strong is a roll of double sided tape or the picture hanging putty strips made by 3M wont take off paint or finishes off of wood.

My husband did this for our grandchildren. He drilled holes with a countersinking bit and screwed the track down with small screws so they could change track layout. Works great. Hope that helps.
