Fan on setting one down from MAX. Heat all the way up, vent set to screen (not screen and feet), driver's window cracked to 1/2 inch, especially in winter, or lower if it is warmer.
Make sure you clean the inside of the windows as well when you wash the car. Use a glass cleaner. There are products to apply to the inside glass that reduce misting - you could try these as well.
Good Luck!

Clean the inside of your windows every 6 weeks with a proper glass cleaner. Autoglim Car Glass Cleaner is the best I have used. It is expensive but lasts for ever. Don't use household products. Many have silicone in them to give a shine and create dangerous reflections in a car. Also close all air vents overnight if the system lets you do this. Stops the interior getting damp. Dirty windows mist up for nothing. Cleaning also greatly reduces headlight glare at night. I guarantee you will be surprised how much difference this makes.

If you have air-con, use this. It should clear the windscreen in seconds, and the rest of the windows in a few minutes.
If you don't have air-con, use as much heat as you can comfortably cope with, set the distribution control to the windscreen, and if your heater has a recirculation feature make sure this is off.
If you put the recirculation control on the recirculation position overnight this should close the fresh air intake, and might reduce the amount of condensation in the car in the morning.

if you have air conditioning this will solve your problem straight away.
The misted up windows comes from moisure in the air. If you don't have A/C open a window to help the inside moisture content of the car level out with the moisture content outside of the car.

Open the window a little. The "Steam" is caused by cheap polymers in the plastic bits like the dashboard. You have to let them out the car.

Put it on hot, turn the fan on full, close the fresh air vents and open a window slightly to get some air flow.
Don't move until it's demisted - it might be me you kill!
