I don't understand which years go with what century..for example the 15th century, is that the number before(1400's) or the number after(1600's). i've never gotten it!!!!

a century lasts until the number is reached... the 14th century is 1301 to 1400.
the 21st is 2001-2100.


think of it this way: the centrury from 1-100 couldn't be the zeroith century, could it? It's the first century.

the century ss always one more than the year, like the 1700s would be the 18th century, 1900s was the 20th century...now that it's the 2000s it's the 21st century...it took me awhile to get that too lol
