Im wanting to know how to use a bullwhip. Can anybody help?

Im wanting to learn how to use a bullwhip.

I not sure I can explain. It kinda in the wrist. Lay the whip out behind you. Then sling it forward with your arm extending and as it reach its end, jerk it back using your wrist. You not try to make a circle with it, it more like pull it forward from where it lay, like in a Paper Clip type motion.
