A lawn gnome is too much responsibility for your kids...they need to start with a lawn frog first.....they are smaller and easier to maintain.....and then work themselves up to caring for a gnome....lol......= )

Start off by getting them a pinwheel...I hear they are much easier to care for then lawn gnomes. This will let you know if they are ready.

You take responsibility for the parent and tell them that they are not responsible enough yet, so they can't have one. You know when they do the chores you give them and when they act like human beings and not hyper brats.

Get them a pet rock. If they don't kill it, destroy it or lose it, the Gnome will be safe.

Give it to them and see how they do with it if they don't take care of it take it from them and give it back to where ever you got it from and say you made a mistake.
