I am an optimistic realist who often uses pessimism as a tool so I won't be disappointed.

My glass keeps changing size and since the amount of liquid in the glass is the same, some days my glass is almost empty, other days it is full to the brim, but most of the time ,on the average, it's half full and half empty at the same time. So to answer your Q the capacity of my glass(mind) varies but the actual volume in the glass stays the same. I am therefore both none of the above, and I am all of the above but only one at a time at different times.
I however confess that I prefer to self-describe myself as an optimist disguised as a pessimist but there is a degree of loss of liquid by evaporation and I keep moving more toward the pessimist category. I love the "glass half-full-or-half-empty" analogy-Question and I wanted to share with you all its true dimensions. BTW the attitude labels are stereotypical and very confining but the *glass(ie the creative mind and the power of reason)* is not. Thanks for the wonderful Q!

I would say half full because I'm an optimist. A friend once said that there is no such thing as a realist because if you ask the question what is reality? One might say reality is what a person percieves to be real. So your reality and my reality may be two different things. Food for thought.

It depends on the situation...if the situation is that u are working and u've already got 1/2 of ur work done than the glass is half full......if u forgot to do the other half than it's half empty...i guess im a realist and see things the way they really are pretty much all the time.....;-)

Mine is always half full.Always have a positive out look in life because someone always has it worse than you do.This is being optimistic and a realist at the same time.

It depends. If it was full to begin with and you emptied half of it out, then it's half empty. If it was empty to begin with and you filled it half way, then it's half full.

If I think I will want more it is half empty. If I do not want to waste it, it is half full.
