Life is not easy in the USA. Sorry but people are poor because even though making $8 an hour may sound good, it doesn't cover the cost of living, for everyone. I mean living with out common luxuries like cable, internet, caller id. After you pay rent and buy food, you can barely afford to keep you lights on. A lot of people here are living paycheck to paycheck and are one sick day away from being homeless. I hope your experience here is a good one. Take care.

The reason this country is so great is that if you work hard and don't complain too much, you can do ANYTHING you want. You can start out with nothing and with hard work and effort you can be President.
The poor people here are that way for one of several reasons.
1. They are lazy and just don't want to work.
2. They have figured out that welfare is easy and that they can live on it indefinitely.
3. They are not intelligent and just can't get a good paying job.
4. They had a traumatic illness/injury and can't work anymore.
5. They were born "defective" and can't function in normal society.
I grew up dirt poor because my dad was an alcoholic and I struck out on my own at 16 and finished school while working to support myself and then got in at the ground floor of a company and worked my butt off to advance. I now manage a large company and make a very good living.
It's all about attitude and willingness to do what it takes.

Are you for real????? As you can see from the dumb idiot 2 below I am not a poor American. I am SELF employed and make GREAT money. But by NO means is it easy. Poor isn't something I WANT to be so i chose NOT to be. But it comes from HARD work and determination.

as u can see from the above answers.
poor folks in America exist because they chose to be poor. we don't have a caste system and yet people believe they can't do better. they believe the rich were born into wealth . they will not read how the rich were poor only to learn to become wealthy.
the folks we work with (from foreign countries) chose to work past their excuses and toward their reasons.
most Americans are spoiled children who sell their futures fo quick fixes now. they add debt to their life and think it smart.
that is poor folks thinking.
if interested in extra income , let's talk.

There are poor people because they spend a lot more than they earn. There are jobs but the cost of living is not cheap in most big cities.

Life is not as easy in the USA as it is portrayed in the media. A few months ago I was chatting with a friend who came here 7 years ago. He was raised speaking English and his family had extensive contacts with the U.S. Still, I asked him, what surprised him after he arrived. He told me that he was shocked to see that everyone spent so much, but no one seemed to have any money. Everyone complained about debt, but still went shopping. So welcome to our country, but know that you will have to work hard and save money to do well.

Once you get to the states you'll develop ADHD, depression, and need a pill to maintain an erection. You'll need prescription drugs for all of it. Most likely you'll get a weak urine stream and become an alcoholic as well. Just more drugs. All these things cost a lot more than a computer.

I was born and raised in the USA, and I find life to be good. I work hard, don't take crap from anyone and do pretty much what I please. However, the one complaint I hear from my immigrant friends, who are mostly from Europe, is that you have to work too hard in this country. They're too used to European socialism, in my opinion.

Yes life in USA is very easy, you can have pretty much what ever you want for any price. Why we have poor people here, I don't know because everything is pretty much just handed to you without having to work for it. Welcome to easy street, where the lazy get rich and the rich get richer....
