i think i agree with him. i dont like morals and have always felt they were a social construct.

BUT, there are of course some things i wouldnt do. like rape, murder, etc. to me i wouldnt do those things simply for the fact that it would have a negative impact on me psychologicaly.

even though i dont have morals, human beings are still born with a conscience. and thats fact. it is independent of morals.

is it wrong of me to adopt his views?

sauwelios: conscience is not the result of social constructs. it is sceintific FACT that the functioning human brain has a conscience. the only acception are sociopaths. which is a psychological condition in which a person is born in which no emotions are felt resulting in a lack of conscience. its a personality disorder. if you have emotions, you have a conscience. both are automaticaly built in and go hand in hand together.

Continue to seek along these lines, and you will discover the truth which FWN sought to convey. Simply put, it is not conscience which has been grafted onto us...it is a few thousand years of philosophical inluence that seduced mankind away from the noble (more natural) ways of the past.

Oh, to be noble again!
And, BTW Sauwelios...the noble of yore had a conscience too.

IronIC.

It is *morally* wrong, because he was an immoralist. From the perspective of an immoralist, however, nothing is inherently wrong (or right).

Human beings may be born with consciences, but isn't that the result of millennia of moral imposition?

When human beings lose their belief in moral right and wrong, they will lose their conscience sooner or later, as this will no longer be useful.

The only reason a Nietzschean would not rape or murder, if the desire should arise in him, is the fear of retribution.

I don't think Nietzsche would have agreed about conscience. Conscience is a product of our human ability to sympathize and empathize, mere feelings, and they can be honed or dulled by practice. So your conscience is a social construct also.

Is it wrong to adopt his views? Under your views, wrong is a social construct so your question is meaningless.

As long as you aren't adopting sinful morals go for it. I'm half Nazi because they had some good things about them. I'm not all anti jew or anything like that.
