I ask myself the same question several times a day.
Not only are they wasting tax money, but they're wasting the valuable time and effort that they could be putting into doing something useful for things that are actually important (or in other words, doing something useful for the United States of America.)

You could pretty much make the statement "Why is Congress wasting tax money to ________" every day. The don't exactly show the greatest fiscal restraint.
And yet, we keep re-electing the same vermin over 90% of the time.
