Yesterday i was driving i came to a stop and put my car in neutral and then i tried putting it back in gear and it wouldnt go so i let the clutch out pushed it in again and then shoved it into first it finally went but it took a lot and at every stoplight it was like that, then i decided to get some wendys and then i parked because i dont like to eat and drive then the car started acting reall weird and wouldnt go into any gear except 3rd so i would have to start in 3rd which is kinda hard and you could smell the clutch and then i pulled over into a parking lot put the car in neutral and the rpms started jumping between 0 and ten and it sounded like it wanted to die and then it didnt after this i tried putting it in gear and it went but it wouldnt move at all so i turned the car off looked under the hood...and i dont know anything about cars so that was kinda pointless then i tried putting it in gear and it would just grind...help please!

Sounds like the hydraulic master or slave cylinder for the clutch is bad.

Probably the slave cylinder...

When the clutch goes what this means is the plate in the clutch burns out and has to be replaced .But before you have the job done do some research and make sure the plate they replace it with is the better one and not the cheaper one. Because replacing the clutch plate is allot of labor.I had a clutch plate replaced and I didn't do research on my 5.0 mustang.and I paid for it.
