I saw a couple clips of interviews with Craig Conroy and Jarome Iginla, and they looked a bit scared. Is Keenan going to turn them around or destroy the team?

He's the perfect guy.

THis is a team that responded extremely well to Darryl Sutter, and Darryl was taught by Keenan.

Both Tanguay and Iginla said they love him earlier this week. I figured that Iginla would, but if he can truly get Tanguay's approval, then this should be a dynamite team.

It has been quickly pointed out by many experts that this is the most talented bunch of guys since the 93-94 Rangers that he has coached. So, hopefully that will bear itself out.

The Sutter/Keenan combination is also the best GM/Coach relationship Keenan has been in since 1992-93 when Keenan was Sutter's boss.

Yes. Here's why. The Flames downfall was undoubtedly a lack of discipline from the top on down. If there's one good thing Keenan's known for, it's coming into an ugly situation and making the ship right itself by instilling discipline. The Flames have needed a ball-breaker at the helm for years now, and Keenan will do a good job for 2-3 years, as has been the case virtually everywhere he's coached.

I have a feeling that Mike Keenan will be the first person in the NHL to **** off Jarome Iginla. The guy is good natured and always plays with a smile on his face. Keenan will gladly wipe that grin off his face...or will he? Keenan did wonders for Ron Hextall and Rick Tocchet, Ed Belfour and Jeremy Roenick, Adam Graves and Mike Richter, Chris Pronger, Todd Bertuzzi, Joe Thornton and Jason Allison, Olli Jokinen and Jay Bouwlmeester. He will further push Iginla to greatness (or for that matter Dion Phaneuf will become the annual Norris trophy contender he is projected to be), or push him away. If Keenan has learned anything from his previous coaching gigs, then he will be a great fit for the Flames. If Keenan is still stubborn after all these years, there will be a soap opera brewing...

For anybody who thinks that guys like Iginla, Tanguay, or Langkow are going to be 'pissed off' by Keenan, think again. What Iron Mike will do for a team is instill a very good work ethic in the players. Guys like Huselius, not known for their hardworking, defensive play will have to changes their ways or ride the pine. Mike will drastically improve Huselius' defensive game (hopefully). I think one of the biggest problems last year was that Playfair was softer than Sutter, and when they were losing consistantly on the road, big changes should have been made but Playfair didn't. Keenan wil not hesitate to bench players, switch lines, bring up young, hard-working players, or even sit out guys like Phaneuf and Iginla.

Iron Mike will bring the Flames to a new level.

Keenan is going to make the existing players either earn their way on the team or off the team. The Flames as you know them will change with time and he will either make them into contenders or lose the players and get fired.

Who cares if he's a "good" fit? Either way it's entertaining plus when Keenan's teams do well, they are fun to watch. None of that dreary Lemaire-Burns-Constantine D style.

I actually hope he does well and we see Kipper going insane when he gets pulled and put back in in same game for the first time.

He has alot of hype to live up to himself. Given the situations in Boston and Florida I would say he is successful with very talented teams. For what it's worth! Calgary may react like the Hawks or the Rangers; they may react like the Blues. Is Keenan really the catylist or the benefactor?

Good fit

Calgary is a hockey town and loves to see the boys bang and crash and that's what Iron Mike brings. 3rd line guys overachieve and in this case the star player Iginla will thrive.

You can't blame for anything to do with Florida, they have been making serious run at being the worst organization in the NHL

Mike Keenan isn't a good fit anywhere.

IMO, he is the perfect fit. Many will disagree but I think he will be great for them. My early choice for coach of the year.

You should know that Scotty Bowman was the same way. You better play well or else. This team does not need a buddy for a coach, they need a stern coach. IMO of course.
