Every city is different. Ask your actor friends and your acting teacher how to locate auditions in your city.

If there is a Theater publication in your city, purchase it when it comes out and look for auditions in your city.

Also, call the Theatre department of the University in your city and ask if they allow non-students to auditions. You didn't specify which city in Ohio, so someone can guide you.

They are usually advertised in the employment ads in the sunday papers. Sometimes extras are hired from the onlookers at a movie location.

Rick Springfield, an acomplished musican, was hired to play a character on a soap opera when he answered an employment ad in the newspaper.
