I have an older version of spybot search and destroy like 1.4 or something like that and I know theres a newer one but I like the one I have. The only question I have is do they still make definition updates for the old one even though theres a newer version.

Why not download the free new one instead of patching up the free old one?

Yes the version 1.5 has a few more tools in it placed in the advance section than the version 1.4 basically the same. I switched up to try 1.5 no difference in operation it still receives updates 1.5 just like 1.4 but I have found either version is not dependable in reference to automatic updating. I find in both versions YOU are the one who really checks for them if they ever show up. I find both programs versions WEAK never finding much mostly nothing and telling you "Congratulations You are not Infected." Use another Program afterwords different story infections found. Ratting on both versions Spybot Search and Destroy a 4 based on 10. Information AD-Aware SE Personal rate 10 no longer will be supported as of Dec. 21,2007 reason update AD Aware 2007 rating 4 can still use SE Personal but no updates will be provided Both are Free Programs. Information came from Lava Soft wrote inquiring about Registration Purchase SE Personal feed back is as I gave per Lava Soft said "NO PURCHASE." Shame !!! Super Anti Spyware rating is a10 looks like slimming down on good programs which are free except for the junk left out there.

try the search for updates option. I use 1.4 and download new definitions just last week.

I would think that the updates would be the same, no matter which version you would be using.
