Your storing plutonium waste underground, and it will remain deadly for thousands of years. How would you build a "danger no trespassing" sign, that would stand through the ages. And still be understandable to a people or even species, that may have absolutely no knowledge that we even existed? And definately may not know what radioactive waste is.

You could still assume 'they' would have some humanoid characteristics -- eyes, breathing holes, feeding holes, on some semblance of a face.

The 'sour' face seems to be a universally recognized indication of something bad, so I would start with that. I would carve humaoid figures -- one standing next to 'rays' from whatever the containers looked like, with one or more figures lying dead next to him -- and the 'sour' face either on the standing figure, or separately (but larger).

All of this would be carved in granite, or etched on a platinum plaque (and placed in the face of a granite stone).
