I have read both versions and it is clear that Limbaugh states - If you don't want to stay in Iraq for as long as it takes then you are not a Republican, You are a Democrat that has a single minded goal of losing the war.
I am a former Republican and it is Jack Azzes like Limbaugh and the religious right that made me go Democrat.
These people that pretend to be conservatives have hijacked the party that meant something at one time. Now it is an empty hollow shell of it's former self and a mockery of the integrity.
It is un-American to squash dissent and call questioning of authority unpatriotic.
August 21, 2006, Limbaugh said: "I want to respectfully disagree with the president on the last part of what he said. I am going to challenge the patriotism of people who disagree with him because the people that disagree with him want to lose."
Limbaugh is the unpatriotic un-American jack booted Hypocrite here. Back in the 1770's, If people had behaved as Limbaugh does, we would still be British.

Well I was listening last Wednesday though I normally cannot and he said what he says he said not what the leftist are trying to say he said. It is unfortunate that these people are so consumed by irrational hatred that they cannot see when someone from the other side makes a valid point. No one should support phony soldiers, it undermines the credibility of the anti war movement and the real vets who choose to voice dissent which is their right to do even if I disagree with them. Most people who speak about Rush as being hateful and all the other garbage, have NEVER listen to him and just run with left wing talking points as if they are factual. Try listening for more than three minutes and you will see what the left says he says is different than what he actually does say.

I have listened and read the conversation transcripts and anyone else that wishes to read it can do so on his website. The shows transcripts are posted, UNEDITED. I say they are unedited because I listened to the show and read the transcripts. They are the same. You people who say otherwise are morons who are trying to cloud the issue. Stop it. Rush isn't afraid to say what he does, because it is the truth. Unlike the politicians, Rush lives up to his mistakes when he makes them, which are few and far between. How many politicians have admitted to their mistakes, when they have made a stupid or untrue comment. If they did, we would have to start an entirely new paper, just covering that topic. You Rush haters can keep on hating, but you only make yourself look foolish. Anyone who has listened to him for more than one show can see that he cares for us and our country. It is why he is so passionate, loud and boisterous.

YES I HAVE
he clearly says in the same mouthful
THEY JOINED TO GO TO IRAQ----THEY JOINED
now if you want to pretend he was talking about the one guy that lied about his Iraq duty go ahead, but RUSH is talking about soldiers that joined and knew they'd go to Iraq
I guess in Rush's world and the republicans world,
Soldiers are TRAITORS if they have a different opinion than him

I havent...and don't intend....couldnt care less about the whole episode, dont care what he said, dont care what people say about it.....arguing about what Rush said is about as important as worrying about what Paris Hilton or Brittany SDpears say........ Besides dont listen to Bush, I form my own opinions on things, dont need someone on radio to tell me what my opinion is

I read the full transcript here:
http://mediamatters.org/items/200709270010?f=h_top
The one on Rush's website was edited (which Limbaugh lied about - saying it wasn't edited) here;
http://mediamatters.org/items/200709280009?f=h_top
He was not talking about one soldier, he was talking about all soldiers who disagree with the war.
*Please note that nafsllibs version is the edited one from Rush's website.
Rush is a lying fat windbag POS.

There are 2 versions.
The whole truth. And Rush's edited version. In the unedited version it's clear that he referred to soldiers who don't support the war as "phony soldiers" and he said they signed up to go to Iraq.
The version Rush plays for his lemmings, I mean listeners, leaves a lot of what he said out.

Here is an abbreviated version of the whole controversy.
Clearly the Democrats and liberals are so desperate to deflect any attention on their anti-troop comments, they are willing to lie and smear Rush who is clearly a big supporter of the troops.

I've heard it, from media matters no less. Rush is correct for condemning these soldiers. Shame on anyone for attacking Rush for attacking those that would dishonor our military and our country.
