Word has a "Save as Web Page" option on the File menu. Earlier versions might show it as "Save as HTML" or "Export as HTML." It will convert all your formatting and layout to HTML. It's not clean or easy code to re-edit later, but it will do what you asked with no coding.

The simplest way to do this is just save it as plaintext and put .html at the end. Web browsers will read plain text and show it, even if the file doesn't have HTML in it.

Ditto Chris H, above. Word *does* create HTML, but it does an atrocious job of it -- if you intend to edit and maintain it *as* HTML.

If you're willing to download it (long download for a large piece of software, but worthwhile IMHO), OpenOffice does a better job of creating HTML out of Word documents. http://www.openoffice.org
