You will need to take the "bellypan" off. The large piece of plastic under the car. There are a few standard head screws holding it on. After the pan is removed, the drain plug is located on the oil pan. Look at the bottom of the engine for a 19 mm bolt sticking out of the side of the oil pan. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil into a container. After all the oil is drained, put the plug back in and tighten, you can put the bellypan back up too. The easiest way to remove the filter is to open the hood, and remove the coolant reservoir. It is located on the left (drivers) side of the engine. One Phillips screw must be removed then you tip the front end up and pull up and out. You can leave all the hoses connected to avoid spilling coolant. The connector on the bottom is for the coolant level sensor, it can be removed by pressing the tab in and pulling away from the reservoir. With the reservoir out of the way you should have enough space to reach down and remove the oil filter. I would put some old rags underneath the filter before you remove it (by turning counterclockwise) because some oil will spill out. Oil the rubber gasket on the filter, replace the filter, reconnect the connector, and reinstall the coolant reservoir. Now simply remove the oil fill cap and add 4.8 quarts of synthetic Audi/VW approved oil (it will say "meets VW..." on the back of the container). The owner's manual will specify the exact type of oil. After filling, run the engine for a minute, then shut it off. Check the oil level with the dipstick (round orange handle) and your done.

Sorry if I made this too detailed, you never know the mechanical ability of the question asker. Better more info, than not enough.

Good Luck

Try to use RAVENOL the factory choice oil that is good for TWO YEARS between changes! PENTOSYNTH is another one and MOBIL ONE 0W-40 is good as well! PENNZOIL ULTRA EURO for AUDI/VW gives a 15 year 500k miel OIL WARRANTY along with it! NEVER EVER use VALVOLINE or PRESTONE COOLANT in any Audi from ANY year! AUdi timing gears are VERY complex and SOOT< SLUDGE and TAR will ruin them! ALL Valvoline attributes! BYE NOW!
