some researcher believe there is a gene linked to lung cancer and if you don't have it you won't get it. Still it is generally not owrth taking a chance.

I'm not saying smoking is good for you. But I believe the great smoke scare is mostly brought to us by the holier than thou non smokers. Even worse is the holier than anybody x-smokers. (well, most of them anyway.) I have been a smoker for many years and I'm just fine. If someone wants to quit. More power to them.I will smoke away from them if it bothers them. I wont force them to breath it. but shouldn't smokers have the same right? When I spend my money to go to a restaurant, Shouldn't I be-able to have a cigarette after my meal? I don't care if i have to set in a smoking area. But Nooooo, even though the all mighty goverment gets big taxes from smokers.(and the tax keeps getting higher) we are sent out side no matter what the weather is. And some places are trying to change that! When they seen non-smokers were dieing from lung cancer they still try to blame cigarettes by saying...humm, must be caused by second hand smoke! well duh!

It all depends on your body, my mom has smoked almost all her life, and thank God she has not gotten cancer or any other smoking related disease's. My co-workers mom on the other hand has hardly been around smoke and none of her family is a smoker, she just got diagnosed with emphysema (I'm not sure if that is how you spell it). Jack Nicholson also drinks whiskey and smokes cigars on a regular basis. Last I heard he is in perfect health.

And she didn't smoke "filter cigs"

the most important thing is that she had fun and that will help you to live a long time.

Maybe smoking isn't as "bad" for you as some would have us believe.....

OH MY GOD!!!!! Did I just actually say that?!?!?

The FBI will be coming for me soon to shove me in a small corner of Colorado where I can't spread my radical, non-popular ideals.

I think it has a lot to do with living your life in a care-free manner, and not worrying about every little thing and how it effects you.

I think stress does more to kill people than cigarettes do.

Cause smoking isn't actually bad for you.
You look cooler doing it...didn't she?
The coolness you get from sucking on it makes you live longer.
The healthcare system is just telling you it is bad for you because if they told you it could make you live longer, then they would have to pay for it.
Although, healthcare would make a lot of money through insurance...

Most people who smoke do not get sick or die from it. I know you'd get the impression from modern public relations that would lead you to believe that all smokers die from smoking, but that's simply not the case. Smoking does increase one's chances of getting certain diseases, but the truth is that most smokers do not die from it.

some people just have a genetic profile that doesnt bow down to cancer from cigs...they can smoke for decades without any problems. it is somewhat rare and weird, but true.

Usually a smoker lives that long because they don't inhale. Or, possibly, she only smokes a very small amount of the cigarette.
