"Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me." My grandmother used to always say that, it's true if you are a strong enough person. I myself am pretty damn strong.

yes! They do...Most of the time it is with written not spoken words...
If you ever read catcher in the rye there is this amazing
part when he is describing why he want to be the catcher
in the rye wait I'll write it down-
" Anyway..., I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big
field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids ,and nobody's around- nobody big, I
mean except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What i have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff- -I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. Thats all I have to do all day. I'd be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy ,but that's the only thing I'd really like to be.....I know it's crazy...."-
When i first read this I must have cried for an hour...

I'm sensitive, but I've become very selective what I listen to as I get older. Especially if somebody is just being an idiot to get attention. When adults do it, we have to know that it took them a long time to get that way. The behavior, as a result, is not going to change over night. When little children act out and say hurtful things it makes me sadder than most words that are said, because I know that somebody had to teach that kid to say something stupid. I've learned and am still learning to listen more to things than to things that are said. The dead are never dead. They are only words. It's all up to you as to whether you give them any weight or not.
Lead up at the front

Of course words do! and I'm sensitive to the way I feel emotionally. I don't feel people's opinions have a very profound effect on my sensitivity. Everyone has an opinion. Why worry?

Yes. I've been told by many that I am an emotional and sensitive person. I am to those I care about, to the point that I get consumed. I know, not healthy.

lol, but yeah really, words do affect me very much, I'm like more than sensitive and I worry a lot, also I cry on worthless matters, when I think of them now I laugh and realize how stupid I was!
frankly speaking, I do the same mistake again and again, and then laugh and it continues, I just can't control my emotions!!!!!!!

i am a very sensitive person... when a classmate of mine sometimes say some words to me it really hurts my feelings even if he/she is joking. i am not used being teased and hurt by words by other people... when i am really hurt by the people says, i will stay silent then i'll cry when everyone in our house are asleep... that's the only time that i will release all of the hurt feelings i felt.

someone said, "give me 26 lead soldiers..and i will rule the world" (The Alphabet) We read books, some are fictional, some are romance..historical, and others..some are made into movies of all differant types...and they make you laugh and some cry, and some..even to get angry...or scared..one person may say a thing..and it doesn't matter..another, and we are devistated...words are the most powerfull force in the whole known universe...they have caused wars, and peace...people have "killed" because of words..and have saved lives...words affect us all the time..and they are all around us....even before our eyes...............
