I thought about making my parents a scrapbook for their 20th anniversary, but I haven't been able to collect enough pictures and things to make one yet.
It's a really special anniversary for them, so I want to do something really nice, but I don't have any ideas. I also don't really have alot of money to spend. Anyone with ideas?

My parent's 20th anniversary is today! Ironic isn't it? Well, anything you make them they will love. Make them a dinner and set it up outside, and you and your sibs can serve it. Or, buy them a gift card to their favorite restaurant. Make a basket with things they love. Scrapbooks are fun, but so much work, and very costly. I would blow up and frame a picture of you and your family and give that to them.

As a parent, I would just appreciate your remembering the anniversary. A nice card, a hug and a kiss would be as much appreciated as an expensive gift. A wedding anniversary is a celebration for the married couple. A scrapbook would have made a wonderful gift. Or look up events that took place in the world on the day they were married and make a "newsletter" with their wedding the big item. In any case, whatever you do, just show them how much you appreciate them. That would be the best gift of all.

There is no reason you should not ask an aunt to help you plan the party. Do explain what it is you and your sister would like to do. Don't let anyone "take over," however. You are the children and your wishes for the party come first. Tactfully ask your aunt if she and other family members can make a dish to bring. Serve the food buffet style and make punch so you don't have to be running in and out of the kitchen. Have sodas in the refrigerator so that the guests can help themselves, and you and your sister can concentrate on the cake and entertainment. A good stereo and some oldies ought to do the trick. Ask an adult to buy the ingredients for the anniversary punch---and don't have more than a glass, sweetie. lol On second thought, I will include a non-alcoholic recipe as well. (Be sure to have enough punch ready for all of the guests to make a toast to your parents. Cover with plastic wrap if necessary to keep the guests from drinking it beforehand!) Champagne Punch 6 Orange, sliced 6 Lemon, sliced 6 Lime, sliced 1 Pineapple, chunks 1/2 bag crushed Ice Strawberries Mix sugar, brandy and 5 bottles champagne in a punch bowl. Then stir in orange, lemon and lime sliced thin into rounds, pineapple chunks and ice. Stir until well mixed. To complete, garnish with strawberries and pour a final bottle of champagne theatrically over the top. Malihini Punch – Non-Alcoholic 2 qt Orange juice 1/2 cup Hawaiian Plantations Lilikoi Passion fruit syrup 1/2 cup Hawaiian Plantations Guava syrup Ice cubes Combine orange juice, lilikoi syrup and guava syrup, blend well. Chill. Serve over ice cubes. Tell your parents, Happy 50th!

You can actually pay like $40 to name a star officially. They give you a certificate with it's coordinates and a registry form which sends the data to researchers and logs that star as the name you choose. It's a fun gift, I gave it to my parents (who have everything) for their 45th anniversary. My mom still talks about it and it's 9 years later.

A scrapbook is a great idea (but you can save that for the 25th)! ALL parents love photos of their kids. Get your siblings together and go up to the mall and have your photograph made together. Frame one for your folks, wrap it up and give it to them with a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant.
